Ok, I’m looking to get a new camera. Something that is more the less a "bridge" camera. Low light performance and speed are critical. HD video as well.

My list of wants:
1) CMOS sensor.
2) Speedy performance
3) Low light performance
4) HD Video 720p
5) Optical stabilization
6) 10X+ optical zoom
7) Good full auto mode (my fiancee will be using it the most)

I’m currently looking into the Canon G12, Canon S95, Panasonic FZ100, and Sony HX1

Any other suggestions or opinions are very welcome. Thanks!!

Nick, Thanks for the perspective. The reason I’m not looking at the SX20 or SX30 is because they have CCD sensors. I want to go with a CMOS for the better low light and speed. My current Canon the SD780IS has treated me good, which is why I am leaning towards the Canons. However, the Sony and Panasonic I listed are known a little more for their speed, which can be helpful.

I don’t want a SLR. The primary user is going to be my fiancee who will use the pure auto settings for whatever camera I get. I’m the one who wants the advanced controls. I am already adamant on a CMOS sensor. But while I’d love to have a camera with a bigger sensor, I can’t justify the cost/bulk. Coming from a Powershot SD780IS, a bridge camera is likely to be just that…a bridge. But until I can get her to use more of the camera, it’s not worth it.

That said, if you can suggest a good CMOS camera with a fixed lens, I would appreciate it.

Ok so I take video production in school and i wanted to start making videos and other things and maybe occasionally put them on youtube, but i dont want a camera that would only be good for youtube. I kind of want a decent good quality video camera with high definition. the one i have now is ok but the picture isnt as crisp and clean as i would want it. Could you please tell me what a good video camera is that i could get? oh could you give me an explample of a video camera thats more on the cheaper side and then another one that might be a little more expensive. I really dont want to go ovre three hundered

I am looking for a digital camera that can shoot 1080p HD or 1080i , either one in 60 fps. Or at least 720p 60fps. And I would like to have a rapid fire shutter YOU know the one that takes like 5 photos pe second. And ofcourse 24p film look and pretty low price

Still testing the new HD Camcorder my videos will be sharper than ever really am impressed with the new 1080p camcorder With juts a 4 gig card you can record at least 30 mins of 1080p footage enough for youtube wipe it and start again after copying easily onto your computer. You can even watch the footage on your HD Tv via an HD Cable I picked it up for 100 quid which is only 40 pounds more than Logitechs webcam. Well worth it although they do retail at 200 pounds. Battery takes only 290 mins to charge fully. But you can also plug it into the computer via usb and use that power source or a usb adapter ac plug.

I have a Nikon D60 and a Nikon D200 but they both don’t video, I was considering buying a Nikon D90 as that videos and I can use my lenses on it which I already have.

I’m currently debating between to video cameras. I want something so I can get video at horse shows, but then also get nice quality video because i do like editing videos to put on youtube. I’m finding you can’t get good zoom and hd. So I can’t decide which I would rather have. Which would you recommend of these two, or would you recommend something else? What would be most worth my money?
